Ric Green has been Technical Director for the Royal Opera House, Muscat, Oman, since 2015. His career in technical theatre has spanned more than 45 years and before moving to Muscat he was Operations & Technical Director with Opera North for 30 years with ten years with the National Theatre in London prior to that.
He led on the successful Transformation Project to renovate the Leeds Grand Theatre and new purpose-built Opera Centre. Ric was actively involved in the creative DARE partnership with Leeds University and served on the Board of Management.
With a passion for skills development in the live arts, during his tenure in Leeds Ric participated at board level with several major organisations including the Creative and Cultural National Skills Academy and the Creative and Cultural Skills Sector Skills Council. He was a founder board member of Skillscene, a Trustee of the Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax, a board member of Yorkshire Dance and a Governor of the Conservatoire of Dance and Drama.
Ric also worked as a Theatre Consultant with Theatresearch, a theatre consultancy service providing advice and expertise on buildings, management and operations for theatre specialising in the renovation of historic theatres.
