Dr Alistair Fair

Lecturer in Architectural History, University of Edinburgh

Dr Alistair Fair is a historian of twentieth-century British architecture, with a specialism in the history of theatre design since 1945. He is Lecturer in Architectural History at the University of Edinburgh. His latest book, Modern Playhouses: an architectural history of Britain’s new theatres, 1945-1985, was published by Oxford University Press in March 2018. Current projects include a short study of contemporary theatre architecture and a biography of the modernist architect (and theatre specialist) Peter Moro.
