Paule Constable

Lighting Designer

Paul Constable Is a British Lighting Designer and an Associate Director of the National Theatre.  Recent work includes Angels in America and Follies at the National along with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night and Warhorse. She has received 4 Olivier awards, 2 Tony Awards, a Helpmann Award and many Critics Circle Awards both in the UK and in the US.

Her opera designs have been seen all over the world; recently Seraglio, Die Meistersinger and Billy Budd (Glyndebourne); Medea (ENO) and Cav and Pag, Roberto Devereux, Satyagraha (also ENO) and Giulio Cesare at the Metropolitan Opera.  In Dance she regularly works with Matthew Bourne for whom her designs have included The Red Shoes and Sleeping Beauty.
