Richard York

Richard York

Trustee, Winchester Chamber Music Festival

Richard York worked from 1963 in stage and production management roles with coincidental theatre refurbishment. This led to the National Theatre in 1972, bridging a gap between those building it and those who were to operate it. A similar role during the construction of the Barbican Centre led to a long run as Deputy Director. Prior to working as a consultant on cultural projects he was with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra for eleven years which included the procurement of the CBSO Centre, a rehearsal/chamber music hall. The design of theatres and concert halls remains a continuing interest.
