Sebastien Jouan

Acoustician, Theatre Projects

Sébastien leads the acoustic team at Theatre Projects (Paris and London) and is a design-led acoustician specialist in the acoustic design of performing arts venues, museums, galleries, music schools and higher education buildings. He also worked extensively in the field of auralisation (the sound equivalent to visualisation) using 3D audio system (ambisonics) to design performing art centres and sound art installations. He previously worked 14 years for Arup Acoustics and started the acoustic team in Scotland. He’s also been a tutor for the London Bartlett School of Architecture and on the board of directors of Cryptic Theatre in Glasgow, a contemporary art house with performances fusing music, sound, art, and multimedia.
