Fisher Dachs Associates is one of the world's foremost, forward-thinking, and experienced theatre planning and design consultancies.

Never afraid to take on a unique project, FDA has pioneered innovations in transformable auditorium floors, variable acoustic technologies, deployable concert enclosures, lighting technologies, and has developed the most advanced design and visualization tools in the industry.

Founder Jules Fisher continues to win Tony Awards on Broadway and light major concert events and live entertainment, grounding FDA’s work in the realities of current productions and touring.

Known for its work around the world at the forefront of new types of performance space, FDA has worked on everything from world-class opera houses including the Mariinsky II in St. Petersburg, to concert halls and theatres at Lincoln Center, the brand-new Stephen Sondheim Theater on Broadway, the industrial-scaled Park Avenue Armory (in which FDA also designs productions), and The Shed, a massive performance space that moves on railroad tracks, now nearing completion in NYC.

Along the way, FDA has designed some of the most unique and iconic dance clubs in the world: Studio 54 and the Palladium, where FDA conceived and commissioned the first video-wall technology.

At the heart of its work is a deep respect for artists, and an understanding of how to translate their artistic goals into rich, vibrant, and compelling performance spaces.

The Shed

Opening in spring 2019 where the High Line meets Hudson Yards on Manhattan's west side, The Shed will be the first arts centre dedicated to commissioning, producing, and presenting all types of performing arts, visual arts, and popular culture, with an adaptable building able to realize artists' most ambitious ideas.

BLUEBARN Theatre, a small, artist-led, artisanal, hand-made company, founded in the 1980s by a handful of SUNY Purchase’s Professional Theatre Training Conservatory graduates, has long established itself as Omaha’s premier professional theatre. Two ideas — a unique hand-crafted experience for a very low budget — led our thinking during the design process.
